Explore Pettimudi: The Hidden Gem Near Adimali

Pettimudi (near Adimali, Idukki) is a breathtaking hilltop destination that is quickly becoming a favorite for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Not to be confused with the Rajamala region, this Pettimudi offers a serene escape with panoramic views of the Western Ghats.

Travel Tip wrote:The best time to visit is between September and March. Post-monsoon, the entire landscape turns a vibrant emerald green with thick blankets of mist.
Why Visit Pettimudi Hill Top?
  • 360-Degree Views: Once you reach the summit, you are treated to a full panoramic view of Adimali town and the surrounding mountain ranges.
Sunrise & Sunset: It is one of the best spots in the district to witness the golden hour. The sight of the sun piercing through the clouds is magical.
  • Trekking Experience: The climb involves a 1 to 2 km trek through grassy slopes. It’s moderately easy but offers a great sense of adventure.
Essential Visitor Information
Location Approx. 5km from Adimali (via Koombanpara)
Timings 06:00 AM to 07:00 PM
Entry Fee ₹20 per person (approx.)
Difficulty Easy to Moderate Trek
Things to Keep in Mind
  1. Wear Proper Shoes: The trail can be slippery and some grasses are sharp. Good grip shoes and full-length clothing are recommended.
Carry Water: There are no shops at the very top, so carry your own hydration and light snacks.
Be Responsible: This is a Plastic-Free Zone. Please ensure you take your trash back with you.
Clarification: Do not confuse this with the Pettimudi near Munnar (Rajamala), which was sadly the site of a major landslide in 2020. This Adimali spot is a safe and peaceful trekking site.
